A real video for this kind of businessHow this video was made

For independent sneaker brands, running-shoe makers and footwear shops, this guide turns a release into eleven useful videos. You will plan what to film, what to explain with graphics, and what buyers need before choosing a size or entering a purchase draw. Use the suggested schedule, preflight checklist and invented Stride Lab example to prepare a release without inventing scarcity or promising performance you cannot support.

Eleven clips that answer a sneaker buyer’s next question

Work from first reveal to restock. Film the actual shoe when showing construction, colour or fit. Use graphics for dates, specifications and buying instructions. Procedural Videos takes a text-only brief and draws shapes and type; filmed clips are separate. Choose one question per clip.

  1. The silhouette with a reveal date

Before the full reveal, film the actual pair in side profile against a plain background. Keep the outsole and toe shape visible, then state when the full colourway will be shown. Do not pass off an approximate drawing as the design.

Try this: Close with “Full colourway reveal Friday” only after that date is confirmed; save the price and purchase instructions for the announcement.

  2. A colourway under ordinary light

At the reveal, film the same pair from the side and above in consistent light. Name each panel colour, including the outsole. A graphic palette can introduce the name, but it should not stand in for showing the physical material.

Try this: Put the colourway name beside the model name. Keep filters off the product shot and explain the name in the post caption.

  3. The release card worth saving

Once the sale is confirmed, publish the price and currency, full date, time zone, available size range and buying method. Say whether stock is online, in-store or split between both; do not make a store visitor discover that the pair is online-only.

Try this: Use the Product hero template (Product drop version) as an example brief and storyboard for an abstract announcement, not a shoe replica. Group purchase details on the closing card.

  4. A spec card with measurement context

For a running shoe, use approved product specifications rather than a claim that it will make someone faster. If listing weight, identify the sample size and whether it refers to one shoe or a pair. Include units for heel-to-toe drop and stack height.

Try this: The Product hero template (Spec sheet version) is an example brief and storyboard for this approach. Select only the specifications you can document and keep the full data on the product page.

  5. Fit notes for this model, not every foot

Before purchase day, film a staff fit check and state the tested size system, foot length and usual size. Describe toe room, heel movement and width separately. Label it as one wearer’s experience, not a sizing instruction for everyone.

Try this: Say “Our fit tester wears US men’s 9; see their foot measurement and fit notes on the product page.” Use your verified measurements.

  6. What selection in the draw actually means

Before entry opens, explain what participants receive. If selection only gives the right to buy, say “Selected entrants can buy at the listed price.” Show entry closing time, eligible locations, notification method and purchase deadline.

Try this: Link to the full terms from the entry page. Avoid “win a pair” unless the prize really is a free pair.

  7. The reminder with a usable destination

Before opening, show the confirmed time and purchase-link location. For an in-store release, replace the online instruction with the address and confirmed queue procedure. Match the release page.

Try this: Open the buying destination yourself on a phone before publishing. Do not promise that joining a queue reserves a pair unless that is your actual process.

  8. Sold out by colourway and size

After checking inventory, name what has sold out: this colourway, particular sizes or the entire model. If other sizes remain, say so. Separate “no restock planned” from “restock date not confirmed”; they mean different things.

Try this: Use “Sizes US 8 and 9 sold out; other sizes available” only when your inventory supports it. Update or retire the post if availability changes.

  9. On-foot footage with permission

After delivery, ask a buyer for permission to share their clip and agree on credit. Keep the size and colourway visible in your caption. If they received a free pair or payment, retain a clear disclosure when sharing their endorsement.

Try this: Ask for a side view and a short walking clip in ordinary light. Do not turn a customer’s styling clip into a performance testimonial they never made.

  10. Care for this upper and sole

After purchase, film a care demonstration using the instructions for that model. Name the upper material and show a small, approved cleaning step. Do not demonstrate soaking, heat drying or a cleaning chemical without checking that those instructions allow it.

Try this: Answer one recurring care question and put the model’s full care instructions beside the video. Avoid a before-and-after claim if the pairs shown are different.

  11. The restock for the sizes people missed

When incoming stock is confirmed, lead with the returning sizes and colourway. State whether this is stock available now, a preorder or a future release. Keep the delivery estimate on the purchase page consistent with the announcement.

Try this: Make a fresh release card with the new date. Do not reuse an old countdown or imply that every size is returning.

A suggested posting sequence around purchase day

This is a planning example; adjust it to confirmed stock and your release method. If a draw closes before release day, put its explanation and reminder before that deadline.

Build anticipation without inventing scarcity

For draws, giveaways, endorsements and advertising claims, check current rules where you sell and seek qualified advice. This guide is not legal advice.

Do

  • Define the scope of “limited”: the colourway, a production run or a store allocation. Publish a quantity only if you can substantiate it.
  • Have the terms reviewed for your actual selection process before announcing it. State whether entry is free and whether selected entrants must pay for the shoes.
  • For endorsements affecting U.S. consumers, disclose paid or gifted pairs in the video; the FTC recommends audio and visual disclosure (FTC). Check current local rules too.
  • Keep a record of permission to share a customer clip, the agreed credit and any edits. Preserve the meaning of their comments.

Don't

  • Restart a countdown while pretending the offer expires, or write “almost gone” without checking inventory.
  • Call the whole model sold out when only one size or store allocation has gone.
  • Fabricate buyer reviews or condition rewards on positive ratings. The U.S. rule also addresses certain undisclosed insider testimonials (FTC); check current rules before soliciting reviews.
  • Promise faster race times, injury prevention or assured resale gains. Keep unsubstantiated benefits out of the release copy.

Check the pair, size chart and checkout together

Compare every asset with the product page. Ask the inventory owner to approve the release card.

  • Model and colourway names match the labels on the physical sample and purchase page.
  • Currency and shipping or return promises match the published policy.
  • Size labels identify the system, such as US or EU; the chart belongs to this model.
  • Weight and dimension claims have units, measurement context and a documented source.
  • Date and time zone agree across video, caption, store notice and purchase page.
  • The draw explanation distinguishes buying from winning and links to reviewed terms.
  • Text remains readable on a phone with sound off; date, price and buying instruction get a pause.
  • Checkout works; someone will update sold-out sizes after launch.

Stride Lab: a release card with time to read it

Stride Lab and all offer details below are invented. This uses the Product hero template (Spec sheet version) as an example brief and storyboard, adjusted to a release announcement.

The briefInvented businessProduct hero · Spec sheet build

Make a 15 s, 9:16 vertical announcement for Stride Lab’s Stride One running shoe, $120 USD: foam midsole, knit upper and reflective details. Use abstract shapes and text, with #ea580c, #22d3ee and #fff7ed. No narration. Open with the model name and price; show the three details separately. Then show “23 Oct 2026 · 10 am UTC−4”. Hold the final card: “See sizes in our online store · Stride Lab”.

Questions people ask

How early should we start teasing an independent sneaker release?

Work backward from confirmed stock and the buying method; two weeks is a suggested schedule. If price, sizes or date are unconfirmed, invite buyers to a reveal instead of starting a purchase countdown. Allow time to read fit notes and draw terms before entry closes.

Can we call a purchase draw a sneaker raffle?

Describe the outcome explicitly: selection gives a chance to buy at the stated price, or a winner receives a free prize. Get qualified advice and check current rules where you accept entries before publishing terms; this is not legal advice.

What should a creator say if we send them a free pair?

Use plain wording such as “Stride Lab sent me this pair”, with a clear on-screen disclosure. The FTC treats gifted products as a material connection and recommends audio plus visual video disclosures ([FTC](source:1)). Check current rules for the audience’s market.

How do we answer “Should I size up?” without guessing?

Link to this model’s size chart and verified fit notes: usual size, foot measurement and tested size system. If fit is untested, say so; do not copy another model’s half-size recommendation. Put the details on the product page.

What if only a few sizes return in the restock?

Name returning sizes using the store’s size system, then the colourway. Distinguish available stock from preorders. If quantities are unconfirmed, invite buyers to check for updates; do not imply that every size returns.
